Monday Mats

Enjoying this beautiful weather! We've been talking about different signs of spring in the classroom as it begins next Tuesday - reminder that Monday Mats are coming home today and to practice them over the weekend. It can be as little as 10 minutes while driving down the road or as much as you want. Don't forget to send them back Monday, I've noticed a growth in the kids already by doing this! :) Thanks for visiting!

Assessments

Hello all - Please look for a copy of your child's winter letter ID and sounds assessments. This will give you an idea of where he/she is at this point in the year. I will be posting the class average so that you can get a better idea on Facebook later today when I get them calculated. I'm very happy with the growth so far this year in literacy! Numbers

Hello all - today we reviewed numbers 0 - 5, quantifying, writing, recognizing, comparing, etc. If you get a chance at home to review this, please do so. The kids worked very hard at this today and it's difficult stuff to understand sometimes. We built towers and had the opportunity to demolish them when we were finished. We could also use some extra practice on our writing skills, as we skipped that today due to our diligence during math - we earned an extra center time! STAY WARM!! Thanks for visiting!

Merry Christmas!

I just wanted to wish all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! You will find a special package in your child's bag today for New Years - it is okay to BREAK it open over the counter :) The winter packet I sent home is worth a special surprise if it's completed and returned as well. Christmas Trees

Brr!

Fall is starting to feel true to it's season! Please feel free to send an extra jacket to keep here at school for your child in the event that they forget one in the morning. Also, if you haven't sent extra clothes in the event of an "accident" that are appropriate for colder weather, please do so as well and we will send the others home. Thanks for visiting!

Field Trip

Tomorrow we will be visiting the fire station to conclude our fire safety week. We plan to leave the elementary about 1:45. If you would like to accompany us on our walk, please plan on meeting us at the bench in front of the office at that time. I anticipate that we will be back by 3:00.
